Re: New 4L80E

I know the 4l80e's are not all equal. Different tail shafts for 2wd or 4wd, different # of splines on some and some come with hardensd shafts. There are different pans as well. Check out these guys for some ideas. http://www.transmissioncenter.net/4l80e.htm That company SUCKS. You need to spend mor...

Re: New 4L80E

You need to go to www.atra.com and do due diligence on the ATRA transmission shops in your area. You should be able to find someone good. Report back with your findings. Call the shops up, ask how familiar their techs are with the 4L80E. When you find the guy that talks about it fondly and with much...

Re: Failing PMD?

That is scary about the failing PMD causing the truck to floor itself. I think I had that symptom on the way back from Orlando. I was in traffic, idling in Overdrive with my foot on the brake pedal. Suddenly, I felt the truck revv and jerk as if it was going to take off. I immediately pressed harder...

Failing PMD?

Ok this is weird. I drove my open-top to Orlando 2 weeks ago. 4 hour trip each way. No problems but felt the truck "stutter" once on the highway. When I was at the airport the week PRIOR, I was idling on the tarmac for about 30 minutes and drove slowly into a turn and the truck died on me. So I thou...

Re: Lubegard ATF Protectant

That sounds like so much fun. It must be a blast. Have you seen the videos of the guys on the several day trip, blasting through the desert. They had a Hummer or two and a International. I'll try and find it if you have not scene it. Let me know what you need from me to get some plaques. I'd put th...

Re: got my "nwe" motor today

I saw this on Hummer Network Forums. You need to get the block number or serial number and call the manufacture directly and ask what the hell you ended up getting. I smell something fishy. You will only get a straight answer from someone that is not financially staked in the deal. I would not trust...

Re: JB Weld A Facorty Option?

My gasket that I ordered from AM General was an AC DELCO gasket. It was plastic with metal eyes. It has no flex to it. I can post a picture and a part number if needed. I believe your truck uses the same gasket as the one that I just bought for my HMCO. The transmission FILTERS are different dependi...

Re: JB Weld A Facorty Option?

If you are talking about the Transmission PAN, you need to get the Solid, NON CORK gasket. I just ordered one from AM General and it showed up in an AC Delco Package. I think it is Rubber. Make sure you use that one and NOT a cork one. Hope that is what you are referring to.

Re: Lubegard ATF Protectant

It is in the States for now, but it has all of the GCC compliance stuff. Thinking about sending it for the UAE desert challenge at some point. I can get you a plaque. I use my buddies truck in the desert. It has 8 batteries, SATCOM and an Arabian sofa in the back...(Wagon). You can sleep in it all n...

Nice tires, eh? Did you get the 13.5" width? I love them. Very stable when cornering, also.
