We got Spammed and I upgraded the forum software

I woke up to a ton of spam emails. I deleted the spammer and upgraded the forum software.
The anti spam software only keeps bots from joining the forum. It can't stop a human who can answer the questions.

Rolling Chassis Pictures

One of the guys on FB was wondering if anyone knew where the fuel lines ran on top of the transmission. Way back in 1997 or 1998 I was at the AMG test track in Indiana where they had a Rolling Chassis Hummer. I took a bunch of pictures and never put them up on flashoffroad.com. I just created a high...

Re: Tires

I asked the expert in the field my friend Tom Cepek. Here's what he said. The KM II tires are very quiet, and compared to the Mud Grappler, they are silent. BFG is the best riding of any tire, as you know, and if you keep them rotated and your alignment checked, they’ll ware evenly and stay quiet fo...

Re: Cold start

Similar to the temps here in Denver for the last couple of days. Because you said you were able to jump start the truck I'd be looking at your batteries and make sure the battery terminals are clean.

Re: Cold start

I started a page on flashoffroad for block heater issues. You are the test case. Let us know what happens and take pictures. http://flashoffroad.com/Diesel/blockheater/blockheater.htm I found a picture of where the block heater is in the block in a group of pictures I took many years ago. newblock.j...

Re: Cold start

Sure, you can clean it up. After you clean it up put an ohm meter across the plug and see if you get something. If your meter shows that it's open either a wire is broken or the heater element is no good. Next I'd get a current tester (A/C clamp meter) and see if you are getting a good draw on your ...

Re: Cold start

Last I knew all the trucks had block heaters. There should be a 3 prong plug sticking out at front bumper level. I think it was on the drivers side. It's not easy to see.

Re: 2-Piece wheels/beadlocks/runflats

Probably 5 years ago I had a customer in the Chicago area who needed new tires on their 2000 with 16.5 2 piece wheels. They found one of the old Hummer dealers and they wanted 250.00 labor per tire to do the work and they still needed to find decent tires which you can't in that size. They ended up ...

Re: What's it worth

I agree. I've seen trucks tricked out with music systems etc and it doesn't add to their value.
The auction ended with 31 bids topping out at 46,200. I'd say that's a pretty fair estimation of the trucks worth on the open market.
