Lift Pump replacement

Post by AC Hum1 » Sat 30 May , 2009 2:34 pm

Hey guys,
I finally got around to replacing my lift pump today on my 2002. I had been noticing a change of pitch and surging in my ticking at traffic lights so I figured I would go ahead and change it out. When I took the old one off, it had no rubber O rings as far as I could tell. I debated leaving them off on the new one, but ended up putting in the size recommended on the lift pump section here. Now I am having a really slow leak from the rear of the pump, seems to be trickling down the metal tube from what I can tell. They are both snugged up really well, but I made sure not to over tighten. Think the O rings are causing this? Any suggestions on how to get at this thing easier would help, it was a total pain to replace.
