Optimal gearing....

Post by johnnyrocket5363 » Sun 04 Aug , 2013 3:13 pm

I am still building my prototype HMMWV. I am putting a Cummins and NV4500 in it, and the factory ratios are quite high. For optimal efficiency, it calls for a final 4.10 ratio (or lower). That means the ring and pinion need around 2.15 gears (or something like that...) Do I have any options?

Well, I know there was an optional gear, like a 2.60 or something like that to give a final around 4.56 or so.... But is there one lower?

If your camera doesn't do that you will have to bring the picture into some kind of image editing program like Photoshop and reduce the size to something like 500 pixels. Then save it as a compressed jpg.
