I've been to Windrock. It can be a real challenge. It looks like you smashed the front right corner of your brush guard and hood.

The main picture on flashoffroad.com was taken at Windrock during a storm while we were on the trail.

That looks like it was an expensive obstacle to go through.

I went over a day early and pre ran some trails with the extreme group. My truck just wasn't as prepared as theirs were. I am pretty much stock.

The rocks claimed the right front corner (brush guard and hood), small scrape on driver side door, left rocker panel (rocker protection was going to be my next purchase anyway), right rear door took it pretty hard too.

we had to pull the brush guard out of tire. I had a wraparound brushguard. I think I could have squeezed by with only scraped paint and maybe a marker light but...

Back at the hotel a hacksaw took care of the bent wraparound and the other side had to go to even it up.

I am highly considering a wrap around D ring guard, but after seeing your photos I am wondering if it is worth it? Is it worth paying the extra cash? From what I can see the guard you have increased the width of your rig and the cost of the damage. What do you think? If I am going to spend a chunk of change on my truck I want it to be on something that looks good but is also practicle.

His wasn't a "D Ring" and the hood might have faired better if it was.

these factory brush guards are just that "brush" guards. Not rock guards. The truck behind me had a custom D-ring guard with steel angle iron added to the tubes for strength. He faired much better than I.
