My HMMWV

Post by Metzger » Sat 26 Apr , 2008 7:51 am

Wow you guys have some nice machines. Mine looks like a peice of crap in contrast.

This one is a 87 hmmwv bare bones basics the heater keeps you alive not warm, when it rains you stay partially dry, when its hot you sweat! nothing fancy. When its full of mud though you break out the garden hose and spray her down, and when the paint rubs off you either laugh about it or go to auto zone and grab 1 of 3 flat colors and touch her up.

When I bought it I told my wife I had a suprise comming. She wanted to know what it was. When she saw me pull up in it she said "what the f*** is that?" I said its a humvee! She asked "what the f*** are doing in it?" I said "It's ours!" she didn't say much for a few days but now its grown on her lol.

Metz,

This is what I am going to be looking for in a "wheeler". Right now I will be using the 2000 I have as a "street advertising Queen". I will take it off road just not some of the places I took my jeep....lol

I want a military version for my offroader. No interior, spray wash the inside outand I would not be worried about paint and so on. On the smaller trails that my jeep would fit on, I would make a road wider with this... lol

Great ride nice pics and you will be looking for a civi one soon, as H1sp said.

Ciao

Ty

LOL you're right! I've been looking at H1s for even a daily driver. My wife however said "what the f***'s the matter with you" When she met me I drove a beefed up full sized bronco, then a Ram 2500,then a F250 now a yukon and a humvee. I think she forgot I have Hillbillie roots. I'm a bon fire, beer drinking, gun shooting, nut job that looks at curbs and boulders when we're out ,thinking? ..How would I attack that without grinding a hole in my fuel tank? She'll come along though. I just have to run the miles up on the yukon then I'm in

The Green is the Classic look.

That desert tan has been the color for the last few years... so its more "serious"

I like them ALL.

Now you've got me dreaming...

My next one will be a 2-door (color not all that important). My third one will be a camo HMMWV ambulance. My fourth one will be a tan armored slantback HMMWV (turret optional)...

lol I was eyeballing a slantback setup with the MG hole up top. With a set of x doors. Together they were 5,500 . Did anyone see scanners? That would be my wife!
