Please, ask technique information abaut H3

Post by Sanmarko » Tue 03 Apr , 2007 9:31 am

Hallo, sorry for my bad english.
My name is Sanmarko,
I am north Italian and live in Alpi-Dolomiti mountains
I have Hammer H3 and here is only one.

In italy there are not many Hammer,
and I do not know who to ask information.

Please, I want to ask information abaut H3 with automatic drive:

when I insert the short speed
to listen strongly I hiss in the gears reducers, greater with 3-4 speed
this noise is normal?

thanks, good bye.
Sanmarko

(excused me for errors)

My H3 makes a low gear whining noise.
At first I thought my H3 was making too much noise, so I went back to the dealer and test drove a couple more. They all made the same sound.

Now a Hiss noise???

Some times my passenger will make that type of noise…..
“Hisssssssssssssss”

I would go back to the dealer and test drive another one, also let them check it out for you.

However,
If it’s under warrantee……….. “drive it like you stole it”

Send us some wheelin action photos

Hope this helps

I think it's because the transfercase has straight cut gears and isn't as quiet as when you are in High.

The Hisssssssing sound comes from my wife
low gear whining noise comes from the H3 :o

You know what I really like???

I put the 35's on the H3 and lifted the front with the torsion bars (just alittle to level it out) and with out steps, some have a tough time getting in. :D

I use to have a Vett and I lowered it, once someone got in it, they had a hard time getting out. :P

Yes "h1sp" Hisssssssssss .... more speed and more noise with frequency in acceleration.

Yes "chuck" I think you have just reason abaut straight cut gears.
the noise is of teeth gears.

but if the noise is also in other H3 vehicles ..... it is all ok.

PS
sorry, I dont understand all you write

Sanmarko, viva Italia. Does your H3 run on gasolio? (Diesel?)
All our 4wheeldrive vehicles seem to make a little gearnoises in LowLock.
Especially in 1st gear. Comparing with another H3 would be good so.

Ciao "guinnesstout" , my H3 run on "benzina" (version diesel does not exist in italy)
but I think that the diesel motor, with european ecology normative, ....(multijet, turbo, commonrail, intercooler, antiparticolato filter, hight compression).... is more sophisticated and more electronic...... and not affidability in off road.

I like semplicity of Vortec.

Ciao,
The new US diesel motors are just as bad as your EU diesels.
Rumors are, the diesel H3 will be available in Europe only , IF ever at all.
We were in Italy in the old Rangie, with the gasser. The attendant always wanted to pump the gasolio. Attenzione!
