2" 3M Safety Walk Slip Resistant Tread. I wanted to make it easier tor passengers to use the rock sliders as a step to get into the truck. This way you won't slip off the tubular slider when you step up.
Clean off the surface with solvent that will remove all dirt, wax and oils.
Measure out your material. The longer front piece is 40". The shorter rear piece is 10". Cut and trim the free end first. If you cut off a 40" piece and make a mistake trimming an end you either have to throw it away or settle for a shorter length. If you trim the free end first and make a mistake you'll only lose a couple of inches.
Mark your length. Using a square draw a perpendicular line at your mark.
Trace your curve around a piece of plastic pipe or anything you can find that's about 2" in diamter.
This is what your marks should look like.
Cut around the lines doing the free end first.
Cut the tape at your line and then cut the curve.
Peel the paper off the tape. Don't let it touch itself or you will never get it apart.
Strech the tape out over the top of the rock slider. Line it up so it's even and bring it down onto the tube. Adhere it to the center of the tape all along the length. Then work it up and down the curve. Keep the tape away from the perpendicular tubes.
